Antucoya is a copper mine located in the region of Antofagasta, in the north of Chile, approximately 125
kilometers northwest of Antofagasta and 45 kilometers east from caleta Michilla. It is located at 1,700 meters
above sea level, in the communes of María Elena and Mejillones, Provinces of Tocopilla and Antofagasta.
Antucoya is a copper mine that considers the extraction of oxidized minerals from the deposit through a
conventional open-pit mining operation.
The process considers copper leaching in piles, to later obtain the cathodes through stages of extraction by
solvents and electro-obtaining. The useful life is approximately 20 years.
